Youth organizations can be found each day of the Fair in the Lausche Youth Exploration Space. In 2024, the Lausche Youth Exploration Space will have an aerospace/aviation theme. Focusing on sharing more information about space including the importance of the aeronautics/aerospace industry not only in the U.S., but right here in Ohio. There will also be a secondary focus of healthy initiatives, specifically within our Healthy Initiatives Hub, coordinated by the Ohio Hospital Association and Ohio Children’s Hospital Association. There will be a building wide lanyard program encouraging fairgoers to visit the different exhibits within the building to receive a branded tag. Lanyards can be picked up at the Guest Information Services booth.

Battelle
What is your superpower? Visit Battelle’s Science Superhero booth to learn how science can be fun, see experiments up close and share your own superpower.
COSI + The Rocket and Space Zone
COSI will be working with partners from all over Ohio related to the aerospace/aeronautics industry. COSI will be doing a wearable, hands-on STEAM activity throughout the Fair.
Boy Scouts
A variety of hands-on scout related activities will be available for Cub Scouts (5-10 years), Scouts BSA (11-18), Venturing (14-21), Sea Scouts (14-21) and Exploring (14-21) age youth. Build a Lego Pinewood Derby car and race it down the track to the finish line or participate in a game of GaGa ball. Information will also be available about the how youth and adults can get involved in the Boy Scouts of America.
Family Fun Area
Come join us for some family fun! Giant board games, the library reading nook, coloring, and more. You can even take some time to write a thank you note to first responders, healthcare heroes, and veterans.
Girl Scouts
Welcome to Planet Girl Scouts! We are excited to offer you an opportunity to explore the world of STEM through our hands-on activities. We have a range of engaging activities to explore including indoor archery, and indoor hatchet throwing plus activities that will allow you to imagine what life would be like on another planet. Healthy Initiatives Hub
The Ohio State Fair Lausche Youth Exploration Space Healthy Initiatives Hub will feature Ohio’s health care leaders. Ohio hospitals are cornerstones of the communities they serve, caring for the sick and injured and advancing wellness. Ohio hospitals focus on patient education and engagement to make our communities healthier, safer, and more productive. Visitors will learn about healthy living and workforce opportunities in health care. The HUB is presented by the Ohio Children’s Hospital Association and the Ohio Hospital Association.
Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
Join the Ohio Department of Education for some hands-on fun! Visitors of all ages can explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM) and learn how these fields are shaping the world we live in. Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the endless possibilities of STEAM.
Ohio Department of Higher Education
Have fun learning why Ohio is The Heart of Education by visiting the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) during the Ohio State Fair! At our booth in the Youth Exploration Space, you can take a virtual reality tour of Ohio’s campuses, spin the prize wheel, and visit with different colleges, universities, and career technical centers each day! Learn how students in grades 7-12 can earn college credit while still in school through College Credit Plus, or map out a career in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and STEM education fields with a Choose Ohio First scholarship. Families can learn about saving for college through the College Advantage 529 Plan, and you may even get a picture with a mascot or two! Come join us at Tiny Town filled with playhouses, Cozy Coupes, and play gas pumps. Kids can enjoy some play time while the adults relax!
OSU Phun with Physics
The OSU Physics Department invites you to try hands-on science activities led by OSU scientists. Explore the relationship between light and color and learn about how scientists use color to study the stars. Make some noise and explore sound and waves; learn how scientists use sound to study the shape of our world. Test your reaction time and learn about the scientists studying how to measure very small amounts of time. Feel the effect of angular momentum on our special “Spinning Barf Wheel of Science.” Several times throughout the day, OSU scientists will present an interactive science show with opportunities for audience participation. Stop by and dance like a molecule with us!
