First place, Yeast Breads (Favorite Bread- Sweet), 2017
Baking temperature: 350 degrees
Baking time: 40-45 minutes
Yield: 1 loaf
Ingredients
- 3 c flour
- 2/3 c white sugar
- 4 ½ t baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 1 t root beer concentrate
- 3 T butter (melted and cooled)
- 12 fl. Oz. root beer (room temperature)
- 1 T white sugar
Glaze:
- ½ c confectioners’ sugar
- 3 T milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease loaf pan with non-stick spray and coat with flour
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar
- Add butter, root beer concentrate and root beer to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan
- Bake 40-45 minutes or until pick inserted into the center comes out clean
- Remove loaf from oven and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before removing from pan
- Stir together the confectioners’ sugar and milk to create a glaze
- Drizzle glaze over bread and serve
