Old Fashioned Root Beer Bread

Baking temperature: 350 degrees
Baking time: 40-45 minutes
Yield: 1 loaf

Ingredients

  • 3 c flour
  • 2/3 c white sugar
  • 4 ½ t baking powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t root beer concentrate
  • 3 T butter (melted and cooled)
  • 12 fl. Oz. root beer (room temperature)
  • 1 T white sugar

Glaze:

  • ½ c confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 T milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Grease loaf pan with non-stick spray and coat with flour
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar
  • Add butter, root beer concentrate and root beer to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan
  • Bake 40-45 minutes or until pick inserted into the center comes out clean
  • Remove loaf from oven and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before removing from pan
  • Stir together the confectioners’ sugar and milk to create a glaze
  • Drizzle glaze over bread and serve
