First place, 3103, Chocolate Division, Class No. 1, 2016 | Baking Temperature: Medium Heat | Baking Time: 40 minutes | Yield: 48 pieces
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ C sugar
- 10 oz. evaporated milk
- 2 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Sea Salt
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, bring sugar and milk to a boil over medium heat, constantly stirring
- Cook for 20-30 minutes
- Allow to cool for 30 minutes
- In a saucepan, pour in milk and chocolate chips, stirring until chocolate is melted
- Once melted, continue stirring until mixture becomes thick and glossy (approximately 5-10 minutes)
- Pour into foil lined 8” x 8” pan, sprinkle with sea salt and cool in fridge
- Once cooled (about 3 hours), cut into 48 pieces
