At the University of Cincinnati, pinball machines serve as an engaging teaching vehicle for science, technology, engineering, art and math education. Using pinball machines in courses and research projects provides an opportunity for students to learn about mechatronics and programming concepts through the design, construction, and testing of real-world systems. Although the lessons are taught within the context of pinball, the topics are broadly applicable to embedded systems, automation and robotics. Stop by to play the machine, observe how electronics interact with different pinball features and learn about related research projects.
