Explore microbial sampling in space with faculty of the North Central State College Bioscience Program. Scientists analyze spacecraft microbiomes to assess cleaning effectiveness and maintain astronaut health. Microorganisms also drive biotechnology research in microgravity, leading to innovations like recycling bioreactors and biofuels. The interactive display features agar-filled petri dishes, demonstrating microbial culturing and emphasizing proper PPE usage. Participants create individual "agar art" plates by swabbing cell cultures on agar, which will be on display throughout the day at the Fair.
