Do you have a green thumb, a garden full of large vegetables or a knack for floral design? The deadline is approaching quickly to enter horticulture and floriculture competitions at the 2018 Ohio State Fair. These competitions give you the chance to show off the hard work you’ve put into your produce and beautiful blossoms. Here are a few competitions you can still enter by July 1.

Floral Design

This competition exhibits the most beautiful displays of floral art in Ohio, offering a creative outlet for those who have an admiration for Ohio floriculture. Classes fall under both traditional and modern design arrangements or participants can enter into a themed class.

Hanging Baskets and Potted Plants

Don’t leave your best plants on your front porch; bring them to the Fair! Show off your stunning shrubberies in this unique competition. Classes include potted vegetable, hanging plant, foliage and many more.

 Large and Specialty Exhibits

Does your garden have what it takes? Every year, fairgoers and competition participants look forward to seeing the larger-than-life sized produce. Large and specialty exhibits are a staple of the Fair. Classes include watermelon, cabbage, pumpkin, tomato, zucchini squash, cucumber and green bean.

Information about these and the many other horticulture and floriculture competitions is available here. Deadline to register is July 1.
