The Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board is made up of some of our state’s best and brightest young leaders, hand-selected each year to help ensure the success of the Ohio State Fair. Junior Fair Board members come from a wide range of youth organization and/or career tech organization, including 4-H, FFA, FCCLA, DECA, Girl Scouts, Scouting America, Farm Bureau, Skills USA, BPA, NHS, Key Club, etc. Throughout the 12 days of the Fair, they share their experiences with patrons and highlight the lasting value of the Junior Fair program.
For these dedicated members, a passion for the Fair runs deep. Many have grown up immersed in these organizations—spending summers caring for livestock, exhibiting projects at both the county and state levels, attending meetings, participating in camps, and stepping into leadership roles. Along the way, these experiences have shaped not only their skills, but who they are today.
Ages 16 to 20, Junior Fair Board members come together for two weeks of hard work, forming lasting friendships and professional connections. Their diverse personalities and backgrounds bring a youthful, energetic perspective to the Fair as they serve as welcoming officials at livestock shows, assist Smokey Bear, greet guests at the Monster Mural, and usher concerts at the Celeste Center.
