FEATURED ACTIVITIES ON AUG. 2 AT THE OHIO STATE FAIR Aug. 2 Highlights

With competitions, entertainment, art exhibits, great food and much more, the Ohio State Fair offers a wide variety of exciting options for fairgoers. Tomorrow’s events include:
Time Warner Cable Day
Printing Industries of Ohio/N. Kentucky Day
Veterans & Military Day
Free admission for veterans and active military with appropriate identification.
All-Ohio State Fair Band & Youth Choir
AEP Ohio Concert Series
WCOL Celeste Center, 1 p.m.
Four hundred top student musicians and vocalists from across Ohio will showcase their amazing talents.
Little Big Town with special guest Jamey Johnson
AEP Ohio Concert Series
WCOL Celeste Center, 7:30 p.m.
Recently nominated for two Country Music Awards, Little Big Town is a common name in every country music lover’s collection. Joining them on stage is Jamey Johnson, known for his recent hit song “In Color.”
Corn Hole Tournament
ShowPlace Pavilion, noon – 7 p.m.
See which pairs prevail in this favorite outdoor activity. Fairgoers can also play for fun and for free after 7 p.m.
Open Poultry Show
Poultry Pavilion, 9 a.m.
Check out roosters, ducks, chickens and more at this daylong event.
Veteran’s Day Variety Show
Main Street Stage presented by WBWR, 1:30 p.m., 6 p.m.
See talented performers honor those who have served their country.
Fun with Columbus Zoo Animals
Natural Resources Park, 11 a.m.
Both weekends of the Fair, the park is glad to host zoo animals for all to enjoy.
Mr. Shneadle, physical comedy
Coca Cola Gazebo Stage, 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
Fairgoers of all ages can enjoy Mr. Shneadle’s amazing, hilarious physical comedy performance at the Fair.
Walgreens/AARP Screening Bus
East of the Rhodes Center, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
The AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour is at the Ohio State Fair as part of a 3,000-community, two-year national mobile health screening tour with a goal of providing more than $60 million worth of free health screenings. Collectively the six health screenings available (for adults 18 and over) are worth more than $140 in value.
Gates are open from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

The Ohio Expo Center is proud to host the Ohio State Fair. With a spectacular midway, big-name entertainment, hundreds of exhibits and one of the largest junior fair shows in the nation, the 2009 Ohio State Fair will run July 29 – Aug. 9.
