JUNIOR FAIR BOARD ANNOUNCED FOR 2009 OHIO STATE FAIR Junior Fair Board
COLUMBUS, July 25, 2009
The Junior Fair Board (JFB) has announced its officers and members for the 2009 Ohio State Fair.
The JFB comprises members of various youth organizations that participate in the Ohio State Fair each year, such as 4-H, FFA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Youth ages 16 – 21 represent their organizations for a one to two year term.
Members serve as the ambassadors for their organizations, the Fair and the general public. They assist in the WCOL Celeste Center and with various competitions for youth. They deliver and present awards, conduct kid’s games and assist with the daily parade, among many other programs and activities throughout the Fair. Officers are selected by their peers and oversee JFB activities during their second term.
Listed below are the 2009 Junior Fair Board members:
Tyler Church is a junior at The Ohio State University and represents FFA as the president of JFB. Church studies biology and participates in the Agricultural Education Society. Outside of school he enjoys football, fishing and cycling. Church is a resident of Oakwood, Ohio.
Lyndsey Murphy attends The Ohio State University and represents FFA as the vice president of JFB. She studies agricultural communication and spends her free time working on her family’s farm. Murphy is a resident of Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
Andrea Blamble is a junior at Ohio University and represents 4-H as the secretary of JFB. Blamble studies broadcast journalism and is involved with the student senate, her school radio / television station, WOUB, Delta Zeta sorority and the Society of Professional Journalists. Blamble is interning at the Ohio State House this summer. She is a resident of New Albany, Ohio.
Courtney Beltz is a senior at River Valley High School representing Technology Education (Tech Ed). Beltz plans to study engineering and participates in the Ohio Technology Student Association, marching band, Spanish club and National Technology Honor Society. Beltz is a resident of Caledonia, Ohio.
Meghan Dodson is a sophomore at Bluffton University representing Girl Scouts. Dodson studies interior design and business. She plays volleyball and enjoys waterskiing, running, scrap booking and spending time with friends. Dodson is a resident of Tiffin, Ohio.
Joshua Pinkerton is a junior at Wilmington College and represents 4-H. Pinkerton studies agriculture and education and is involved with Delta Tau Alpha fraternity, Collegiate 4-H, Wilmington College (WC) Aggies and WC Residence Life. He enjoys raising and showing hogs. Pinkerton is a resident of Wilmington, Ohio.
Kevin McCullom is a senior at Bishop Heartly High School and represents Boy Scouts. He is involved in drama club and concert choir. McCullom is a resident of Columbus, Ohio.
Andrew Rohr is a freshman at the Aultman College School of Nursing and represents Grange. Outside of school, he enjoys Grange, 4-H, sports, hunting, fishing and raising animals. Rohr is a resident of Navarre, Ohio.
Kristina Moff is a sophomore at Bethany College representing Ohio Farm Bureau. She is involved with track, Phi Mu fraternity and student government. She also serves as the sophomore class secretary. Outside of school, she enjoys riding horses. Moff is a resident of Berlin Center, Ohio.
Lacy Allen is a student at Bowling Green State University representing Girl Scouts. She is a member of the BG Equestrian Team and 4-H. In her spare time, Allen enjoys horseback riding, reading and creative writing. Allen is a resident of Findlay, Ohio.
Justephanie Chandler attends Lakeland Community College and represents Grange. She studies psychology and enjoys cooking, spending time with her friends and traveling. Chandler is a resident of Euclid, Ohio.
Natalie Hull is a student at Wright State University representing 4-H. Hull studies organizational leadership and communication. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, babysitting and raising rabbits. Hull is a resident of Hilliard, Ohio.
Curtis Adams attends Logan Hocking High School and represents Boy Scouts. Adams has been scouting for 10 years. He participates in theatre and baseball and plans to study robotics in college. Adams is a resident of Sugar Grove, Ohio.
Jordan Rohaley is a student at West Branch High School representing Ohio Farm Bureau. She participates in Farm Bureau, FFA and 4-H. Outside of school, Rohaley enjoys line dancing, hog wrestling, bull riding and tractor pulls. Rohaley is a resident of Salem, Ohio.
Misty Cushing attends River Valley High School and represents Tech Ed. Cushing is the yearbook editor and participates in varsity cheerleading, the debate team and math club. She plans to attend Vanderbilt University to major in English communication or mathematics. Cushing is a resident of Caledonia, Ohio.
Cambell Parrish will attend The Ohio State University and represents FFA. He will study political science and animal science. Outside of school, Parrish enjoys showing pigs, traveling and playing the guitar. Parrish is a resident of Edon, Ohio.
Casey Wilson will attend The Ohio State University and represents FFA. Wilson is involved with FFA and 4-H and received varsity letters in softball and golf. She enjoys agriculture and showing sheep. Wilson is a resident of Plain City, Ohio.
Mitch Rooks is a student at The Ohio State University Agricultural and Technical Institute. Rooks studies dairy and crop management. Outside of school, he enjoys watching tractor pulls, traveling and showing cattle. Rooks is a resident of Perrysville, Ohio.
