ALL-OHIO STATE FAIR BAND ANNOUNCES ITS MEMBERS FOR 2009
State Fair Band
COLUMBUS, July 25, 2009
The All-Ohio State Fair Band has announced its membership for the 2009 Ohio State Fair.
The Band has upheld a tradition of great music since its creation in 1925. Composed of 200 superior musicians from high schools all over Ohio, each performance includes enthusiastic tunes, which have thrilled millions of fairgoers over the years.
The 200-member band, with students ranging from grades 9-12, learns nearly 60 songs each year, with John Philip Sousas Stars and Stripes Forever! closing each of their performances. Other pieces range from classical to show tunes to contemporary folk.
For more than 35 years, director Don Santa Emma has dedicated his time to helping the Band prepare for their countless performances during the Fair. Santa Emma is thrilled to be the Band director yet again this year. I enjoy working with young people from diverse backgrounds. Fairgoers can look forward to exciting performances.
The All-Ohio State Fair Band marches in the Daily Parade presented by WINK 107.1 at 4 p.m. everyday. Below is a schedule of all of the Bands performances at the 2009 Ohio State Fair:
