TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, has recently awarded the Ohio State Fair a Certificate of Excellence. The certificate is a result of consistent exceptional traveler ratings over the past year.

The Ohio State Fair currently has a rating of 4.0, placing it among the best travel destinations in the state. Testaments to this are apparent on the TripAdvisor website, where dozens of fairgoers have listed their favorite Fair memories and traditions.

Most often, site visitors proclaimed their love for Fair food, which may help explain the 83,210 corn dogs and 30,216 ice cream cones sold last year alone.

“It’s always exciting to hear how the Fair has impacted families across the country,” said Virgil Strickler, general manager of the Ohio State Fair. “We’re honored to have received this award and hope to continue the same tradition of excellence at this year’s Fair.”

The 2012 Ohio State Fair will run July 25 – August 5. With a spectacular midway, big-name entertainment, hundreds of exhibits and one of the largest junior fair shows in the nation, the Fair offers something for everyone.
