Oak Ridge Boys, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers and Crystal Gayle will perform in place of George Jones on Aug. 2

Following the passing of country music legend George Jones, Ohio State Fair officials have announced that The Oak Ridge Boys, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, and Crystal Gayle will perform at the WCOL Celeste Center on Friday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. Current ticket holders may use their current tickets for this show.

Jones was a Country Music Hall of Famer, Grand Ole Opry member and Kennedy Center Honoree who had previously performed at the Ohio State Fair on five separate occasions. All of the new performers are fellow Grand Ole Opry members and guest artists. The Oak Ridge Boys, who sang on the hit single “Same Ole Me” with Jones in 1982, will celebrate their 40th anniversary this year. The Gatlin Brothers have been pillars of country music since the 1970s with hits such as “Broken Lady” and “All the Gold in California.” Crystal Gayle, Loretta Lynn’s younger sister, is set to perform some of her 20 number one country songs. Tickets are $30 and include Fair admission when purchased in advance.

Original tickets already purchased for this show are still valid and include admission to the Ohio State Fair, allowing visitors to arrive early and enjoy all the Fair has to offer. For those interested, tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase through the day of the show.
