The Ohio State Fair has announced that Sandy Libertini will serve as the Fair’s Arts Director, overseeing the Creative Arts, Fine Arts and Youth Arts programs. This new position will allow Libertini to use her creative marketing and organizational skills to promote, educate and encourage Ohioans to enter and showcase their original and inspired work in the Ohio State Fair’s three art programs.

Libertini, hired in 2013 as Creative Arts Director, is co-owner of Grand Scheme Promotions LLC, a promotion and events company specializing in the development, promotion and management of community-based art festivals and fundraisers for non-profit organizations. Her new position will allow her to oversee a team of talented individuals to manage the Fair’s artistic exhibitions.

Libertini’s background includes a number of creative marketing and event coordination positions. She has held multiple corporate advertising positions with Fabri-Centers of America Inc. (Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft stores) and served as Marketing Director/Assistant Manager of several shopping centers, malls and outlet centers for retail developers at both Forest City Enterprises and Prime Retail.

Since starting her company in 2008, Libertini has had the opportunity to work with many nonprofit organizations in the Central Ohio fine arts and crafts industry. These projects include developing and managing the Granville Art Affair & Wine Festival, project management of the Dublin Art Fair, and serving as artist booking contractor for Dispatch Consumer Shows and the Riverfront Arts Festival.

Former Fine Arts Director Pamela O’Loughlin is scaling back her role after a six-year tenure, focusing her dedication to the growth of the Youth Arts program under the direction of Libertini. O’Loughlin has enjoyed her years in Fine Arts and her dealings and relationships with the artists, art councils, patrons, jurors and visitors to the Fine Arts Exhibition and looks forward to seeing all of the Fair’s patrons at any one of the Fair’s three arts programs.

Fair officials are pleased to announce that Chaz O’Neil will continue his role as the Fine Arts Assistant Director, and that Debbie Smetts will join the team as the Creative Arts Assistant Director, both under the direction of Libertini.
