Kent Miller, the assistant director of the Ohio State Fair First Aid Center, graduated from Wintersville High School in Wintersville, Ohio (Jefferson County) and Hocking College with an associate’s degree in Fire and Emergency Services.
He has worked at various fire departments throughout the state including Mifflin Township, Westerville, Madison Township and Newton Township. In addition, he has worked for MedFlight of Ohio, Mount Carmel Connection Mobile ICU, Morrow County EMS and Utica EMS. He is currently a lieutenant with the Columbus Fire Department (CFD) and has been with CFD for 15 years.
Kent currently resides in St. Louisville (Licking County) with his wife Melissa, daughter Amber and son Seth. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and kayaking. He has worked with the Fair for seven years.
The Fair’s First Aid Center is staffed by local health care professionals with varied expertise and experiences. The paramedics are seasoned personnel from CFD, Delaware County EMS and the Delaware City Fire Department. Patients that require further care can receive treatment at the nurse-staffed First Aid Center.
