Ed Janesz of Westlake receives Best in Show

The Ohio State Fair Homebrew Competition celebrated its 21st year with a record 633 entries in the divisions of beer, meads and ciders brewed across the state from Ohio homebrewers and any homebrewers from neighboring states who are active members of an Ohio homebrew club.

The many experienced and highly qualified judges evaluated each entry based upon five different criteria including aroma, appearance, flavor, mouthfeel and overall impression.

Andrew Park of Columbus, Ohio received Runner-Up Best of Show with his Mixed-Fermentation Sour Beer.

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of 33 different flights, with the fourth receiving a ribbon.
