“Ag is Cool” Creative Expression Competition deadline is June 6

Are you an Ohio student in grades K-12 and want to show how you think agriculture is cool? Here’s your chance!

Agriculture benefits everyone and is the foundation of Ohio. This year, the Creative Expression visual arts contest asks students to present how they think “Ag is Cool.” Visual entries may include photography, drawing, painting or video.

All entries must be postmarked or emailed by June 6. Entries will be judged by a panel including representatives from the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the Office of the Governor, the Ohio Expo Center and other professional consultants.

Award winners will be recognized by the Office of the Governor and other state officials at the Ohio State Fair. Among other prizes, winners will receive two, one-day passes for free admission to the Ohio State Fair. The passes can be used any day during the Fair, which runs July 23 – Aug. 3.

For official rules and information, see http://www.agri.ohio.gov/AgIsCool/

Any Ohio student who was enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade during the 2013-2014 school year is encouraged to submit a visual entry explaining why they think “Ag is Cool.”
